Hold usually comes at a cost. Most loc gels give you a crisp set with alcohol and heavy film-formers — the kind that flakes by midweek, leaves a white cast, or coats the strand without doing a thing for it.

This gel was built the other way around: hold that lasts, and ingredients that support the strand instead of just sitting on it.

Rosemary, long worked with for scalp circulation and hair health, is extracted as a glycerite and forms the base. Horsetail, rich in silica, is brewed as a tea and brought in through the water phase — its benefit preserved, its harshness left behind in the pot.

Hydrolysed quinoa protein forms a light film as the gel dries, supporting adhesion and definition without the stiffness or flaking that heavier proteins can leave. Xanthan gum provides the hold — clean, predictable, and water-soluble, so it releases fully at wash day.

Apply to clean, damp locs, smooth root to tip, and let them dry fully. The set carries you through to wash day.

A note on pH: This formula is maintained at 5.0–6.0 to protect strand integrity and support the preservative system — consistent with the rest of the Sassy Locs line.
